can do while you stay in Rome!
1 - St. Peter's Basilica - Basilica di San Pietro is the largest
Roman Catholic building in the world. It houses important
works by Michelangelo, Bernini, Bramante, Raffaello, Sangallo,
Peruzzi, and may more famous artists.
2 - Vatican Museums - Musei Vaticani, the largest museum complex
in the world. Here you will find the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo's
frescoes. While the Vatican Museums usually charge an entrance
fee, you can visit free on the last Sunday of the month.
3 - The Colosseum – A must see the Colosseo is a huge
amphitheater that housed the fierce gladiator and wild animal
fights. A good approach is along the Via dei Fori Imperiali.
4 - Trevi Fountain- The most famous fountain in Rome, legend
has it that whoever throws a coin into the pond will return
to Rome.
5 - The Pantheon- Rome’s best-preserved ancient building,
It started out as a pagan temple and then became a church.
6 - Capitoline Hill- The seat of the city's municipal authorities
and the centre of government of ancient Rome. There are a
number of old buildings to see and the focal point of the
hill is the grand Piazza del Campidoglio designed by Michelangelo.
7 - Spanish Steps - The Scalinata di Spagna, steps extending
from Piazza di Spagna to Trinita dei Monti. Enjoy the shops
and restaurants around the surrounding area of the Spanish
Steps or climb the steps for a breathtaking view of Rome.
8 - The Roman Forum - Foro Romano is one of the city's most
important archaeological sites. Houses monuments that are
over 900 years old.
9 - Piazza Navona- A beautiful piazza surrounded by cafes.
At its center are three striking fountains.
10 - San Crispino- One cannot visit Rome without trying their
gelato. San Crispino is said to have the best gelato in Rome.
They make a variety of flavors but pistachio is supposed to
be one of their best.
