can do while you stay in Paris!
1 - The Louvre- One cannot visit Paris without seeing the
Louve. The Louvre has the world’s largest collection
of pre-20th century painting, sculpture, and decorative objects,
the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo.
2 - The Eiffel Tower- is Paris' most-recognized icon. Built
for the World Exposition of 1889, the tower is one of the
most popular attractions in Paris. Climb the tower for a panoramic
view of Paris.
3 - Notre Dame Cathedral- the Cathedral took over 100 years
to complete and it’s dramatic towers, spire, stained
glass and statuary are guaranteed to take your breath away.
4 - Musée d'Orsay- Over the bridge form the Louvre,
the Musee d’Orsay houses the world's most important
collection of impressionist and post-impressionist painting.
Famous works by Van Gogh, Delacroix, Manet, and many more
well known artists.
5 - The Sorbonne and the Latin Quarter- The Sorbonne University
is the historic soul of the Latin Quarter, exploring the university
and the surrounding cafes is a must do when visiting Paris.
6 - Centre Pompidou- The Centre Pompidou is the center of
the city. This museum of modern art and cultural center opened
in 1977. The museum’s unique design is a must see and
it features works by Modigliani, Picasso, and Matisse.
7 - Sacre Coeur/Montmartre- With its unmistakeable white dome,
the Sacre Coeur sits at the highest point of Paris on the
Montmartre knoll. The basilica is known for its beautiful
interior and the sweeping view from its terrace.
8 - Boat Tour of the Seine River- Taking a boat tour of the
Seine River is an unforgettable experience. A one hour tour
can cost about 10 Euros and you can take the tour near Notre
Dame or the Eiffel Tower.
9 - Père Lachaise Cemetery- One of Paris most beautiful
and poetic cemeteries. . Countless famous figures are buried
here: the most popular being The Doors lead singer Jim Morrison.
The French playwright Molière, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf,
and Richard Wright are a few others.
10 - Watch a Movie- Watching a movie in Paris is a completely
different and essential experience. Pick up an issue of Pariscope
at a newsstand and check out the listings for English-language
films You’ll probably be directed to the Champs-Elysées
or Montparnasse. |
