1 - Duomo - Cattedrale de Santa Maria del Fiore- This huge
gothic style duomo the fourth largest in the world and is
one of Florence’s most popular sites. Climb to the top
of the duomo for a beautiful view of this ancient city.
2 - Campinile - Bell Tower- This bell tower was built in the
14th century. From the top of it there is a great view of
the Cathedral and its dome and the city of Florence.
3 - The Baptistry- One of Florence’s oldest buildings.
Its exterior is made of green and white marble and has three
sets of amazing bronze doors. These famous decorated bronze
doors were made by Pisano and they depict scenes from the
life of St. John the Baptist.
4 - Ponte Vecchio- Built in 1345, Ponte Vecchio is one of
the most beautiful and unique bridges in Italy. The bridge
is lined with many shops selling gold and silver jewelry.
5 - Uffizi Gallery- You cannot visit Florence without visiting
the Uffizi Gallery. This famous museum holds works of art
by Michelangelo, Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Perugino,
and Raphael.
6 - Boboli Gardens- Taking a stroll in the Boboli Gardens
is something all visitors to Florence must do. Here you'll
find beautiful gardens and fountains and a great view of Florence.
7 - Galleria dell' Academia- Michelangelo's David, probably
the most famous sculpture in the world, is in the Galleria
dell' Academia as well as other sculptures by Michelangelo
and other famous works of art from the 13th -16th centuries.
8 - Santa Croce- Buried here are the bodies of Michelangelo
as well as Niccolo Machiavelli and Rossini and many other
famous Italians. The Basilica here is one of the largest churches
in the city and like the tombs is worth seeing.
9 - Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio- Enjoy the scenery,
shops, cafes, and restaurants in two of Florence’s most
famous squares.
10 - Wine tasting- Wine is an important part of Tuscany culture.
